Monday treats at Elajé

Elajé Hair & Beauty clients and their friends were treated to an afternoon of pampering treatments and expert advice at the Cambridge salon’s Client Treat Day on Monday 3rd March.

Elajé clients were invited along to the salon where lessons on achieving a salon-perfect blow dry were given as well as free facial lessons. Clients brought their friends along to introduce them to the salon and to receive a free cut and blow dry or choose from a range of facials.

The event attracted 60 people, who relaxed with coffee and cake in the afternoon and canapés and Champagne in the evening while the expert team of hairdressers and beauty therapists worked their magic and revealed some of their professional secrets.

“It was great to give something back to our regular clients and this was a perfect opportunity to take time out to teach them some of our professional techniques. Inviting their friends for a free treatment allowed our clients to give a gift to their friends and enjoy the event together,” said owner Julia Gaudio.

Non-surgical facelift with advanced Caci

At Elaje we are continuously investing in our beauty treatments and as Cambridge’s Caci expert, we are delighted to introduce an advanced, new Caci machine to our system.

Beauty manager and senior therapist, Michelle Richardson explains: “Caci is a machine that is widely considered to be the most advanced of its kind. It uses tiny electrical impulses that work to tighten muscles and stimulate collagen. Put simply, it is a treatment that combines a facial and face lift all in one and our clients see amazing results.”

The latest Caci system at Elaje is the Caci Ultra. This offers micro-current technology that re-educates facial muscles to provide the non-surgical face lift. The treatment is perfect for acne, skin blemishes and plumping fine lines and wrinkles.

A hydratone treatment is activated by micro-current rollers together with a silicon gel mask that is infused with powerful moisturising properties to firm and hydrate skin. The Ultrasonic element of this machine uses a gentle peeling action that exfoliates the skin, neutralises bacteria and improves blood and lymph circulation.

“There are different ways to use the Caci system and we can offer a free consultation to advise what is the best treatment for your individual needs,” says Michelle.

Becky in the top style team for 2014

Elajé Hair & Beauty graduate stylist, Becky Lemon has been selected for one of the most exciting young talent teams in the hairdressing industry.

Becky is among a handful of talented youngsters that have been selected from hundreds of hopeful entrants and has secured a place on the 2014 ghd Style Squad. The hair brand has been running the scheme for the last three years to recognise and nurture young UK talent.

As part of the team, Becky will get to work at London Fashion Week, Salon International and ghd media events and launches throughout the year. Being part of the squad has become a highly acclaimed position for young stylists to progress their career and polish their styling skills.

“It’s fantastic to have been chosen for the ghd Style Squad. I’m really excited about the events I will be getting involved in over the coming year,” said Becky.

Becky is a wonderfully creative member of the Elajé team with a specialism in amazing updos. Having gained NVQ levels 1 and 2 at Cambridge Regional College she trained at Elajé in Hills Road where her enthusiasm and commitment to her craft have made her a valued member of the team and a popular stylist with clients.

Michelle qualifies to teach beauty

Elajé’s beauty manager and senior beauty therapist Michelle Richardson has qualified in a major teaching qualification, an important step towards her goal to open a beauty academy.

Michelle is now qualified to train apprentices from the local college to achieve the high standards required by Elajé whilst they complete their NVQ training.

Michelle gained the PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) award following an intensive 12 week course where she studied a variety of planning, motivating and teaching methods. She is now undertaking an Assessors qualification.

“This enables me to grow the beauty department with trainees undergoing very thorough training and working their way up through the ranks. Beauty therapists should be working to very high standards and at Elajé we strive to provide services that are impeccable,” said Michelle.

Michelle is planning to operate a beauty academy with Elajé that will recruit college leavers and provide first-class, on-going training.
